Southern Dutch has been Europe’s most successful BBQ team in recent years. They mainly use their own spice blends and have recently started selling them to others. All their blends are generally salt-based, and A Touch of Sweet is the sweetest one among them.

We think they’ve got their names a bit mixed up, because the spice and sweet theme seems a little tangled. Everything is salt-based, Touch of Sweet is definitely the sweetest, but it also has a light heat behind it — so it’s not purely a sweet seasoning.

Pro tip

This is a great seasoning for fish, chicken, and pork in any form — but not for beef.
