Barbecoa Sweet Rub spice mix

Barbecoa is a very well known BBQ team from Belgium and a multiple champion in their country. The team is always in contention for the title of best European BBQ team. The leader Tom Bertels also makes sauces and seasonings. Sweet rub is what the men themselves use to make most of their pork, including both ribs and pulled pork.

BBQAces comment: It’s not a refreshingly sweet blend as the name suggests. The name doesn’t say it as the name suggests. In the Dutch tradition, the base is still salt, but with a strong sweet note, so that the salt brings out the flavour of the meat itself as a flavour enhancer.
